OverviewThe Intermediate Division is designed for players who have moved beyond the fundamentals and are ready for a more competitive experience, without the intensity of the Challenge Division. It’s an ideal space to continue developing strategy, consistency, and confidence while enjoying competitive matches alongside fellow ILSA members who are continuing to grow their game.

  • 50% goes to ILSA
  • 10% goes to Tournament of Champions Fund
  • 40% goes to that season's prize pool


Schedule:

  • Round 1: Jan 25 - Mar 1 to complete 4 matches
  • Round 2: Mar 2 - Mar 29 to complete 3 matches
  • Playoffs: Mar 30 - Apr 30 to play out the single elimination bracket. We will try to schedule and play out either the Final 4 or 8 on the same day 


League Format: In the Intermediate division, there will be two rounds of pool play followed by a single elimination bracket.  


Round 1

  • To start, you’ll be placed into groups of 5
  • Complete a match against each of your 4 opponents in 5 weeks
  • The top 3 players from each group, by points, move on to the next round of Main. The remaining players move into an optional Consolation Group


Round 2

Main:

  • You’ll be placed into groups of 4
  • Complete a match against each of your 3 opponents in 4 weeks
  • The top 2 players from each group will move on to the Main playoff bracket

Consolation:

  • You'll move into group play or a single elimination bracket at the commission's discretion based off the number of participants


Playoff Brackets

  • First round or two will be self-scheduled, just like group play
  • As we get into later round of playoffs, we’ll attempt to get all remaining players to finish the bracket on the same day/evening


Game Format: Each matchup will be one 16-frame game with players switching colors after the 8th frame

Prizes:

  • Cash Prizes will be awarded to at least the top 4 players in the main bracket. Exact amounts will be determined after registration closes
  • 1st Place will also receive a take-home trophy and a free entry into the Challenge division next season if they choose to play in it
  • Pins will be awarded to the top three players in the main bracket
  • ILSA Points will be awarded in the playoffs based on the number of players, as per our Points Document


ILSA Points

With 35 players competing in the Intermediate Division, the following points will be earned based on the current ILSA Points Structure:

1st place = 19 points

2nd place = 13 points

3rd place = 11 points

4th place = 9 points

5th-8th place = 8 points

9th-16th place (in bracket) = 6

Remaining players with Full Participation = 2 points
