Overview: The FUNdamental Division is designed for players who are new to the sport or who prefer a more relaxed and recreational environment. It's a great place to learn the basics, improve your skills, and enjoy friendly competition with fellow ILSA members who share your love for the game. Pricing: Entry fee is $30 with at least half of which goes towards prizes and payouts. Each player is guaranteed 7 matches for the season.
Schedule:
Round 1: April 15th - May 12th to complete 4 matches
Round 2: May 13th - June 4th to complete 3 matches
Playoffs: June 6th - June 19th to complete the first 2 rounds of the bracket.
Playoffs: June 20th - June 30th we will schedule and play out either the Final 4 or 8 on the same day
League Format: Business as usual! In the FUN division, there will be two rounds of pool play followed by a single elimination bracket.
Round 1
To start, you’ll be placed into groups of 5
Complete a match against each of your 4 opponents in 4 weeks
The top 3 players from each group, by points, move on to the next round of Main. The remaining players move into an optional Consolation Group
Round 2
Main:
You’ll be placed into groups of 4
Complete a match against each of your 3 opponents in 3 weeks
The top 2 players from each group will move on to the Main playoff bracket
Consolation:
You’ll be scheduled 3 matches to play again other people in the consolation group
The top 8 players will make the Consolation playoff bracket
Playoff Brackets
Both Main and Consolation playoffs will be a single elimination bracket
First round or two will be self-scheduled, just like group play
As we get into later round of playoffs, we’ll attempt to get all remaining players to finish the bracket on the same day/evening
Game Format: “Palms Style”- Matches will be best of three games. Games 1 & 2 are 8-frame games, Game 3 is a 4-frame game with no color change.
Points System per Match:
If a player wins 2-0, they earn 3 points
If a player wins 2-1, they earn 2 points
If a player loses 1-2, they earn 1 point
If a player loses 0-2, they earn 0 points
Prizes:
Cash Prizes will be awarded to the top 4 players in the main bracket and top 3 players in the consolation bracket. Exact amounts will be determined after registration closes
1st Place will also receive a take-home trophy and a free entry into the Challenge division next season if they choose to play in it
Pins will be awarded to the top three players in the main bracket and 1st place in the consolation bracket
ILSA Points will be awarded in the main bracket based on the number of players, as per our Points Document
