Additional Information:

Please disregard the dates shown above. Registration ends on Oct 17th unless all 36 slots are filled before that date.

  1. The 2023 Fall High Rollers league will take place from mid-October to early December. Registration will close at midnight on Tuesday, October 17th and group assignments will be sent out on the 20th. If we sell out before the 17th, we will assign groups at that time so players can begin scheduling their games sooner.
  2. You must be a club member to play! Become a member here.
  3. This league is open to all members. Pros may participate.
  4. This is a singles league consisting of at maximum 36 players.
  5. Players will be randomly assigned into four groups (A, B, C, D) of 9.
  6. You will play the other 8 people in your group one time.
  7. The top 4 finishers in each group will be randomly assigned to a 16-person single elimination bracket for the knockout stage.
  8. Players have 8 weeks to complete their eight group stage matches. It is up to the players in each group to schedule their matches. You will be provided with the email addresses of the other 8 players in your group. Schedule your games whenever you see fit. If everyone gets finished with their matches earlier than 8 weeks, then we can proceed to the knockout stage faster.
  9. If you schedule a match during non-club hours, the two players must agree on the set of discs to use. If you schedule a match DURING club hours, there will be two sets of discs set aside for you to choose from. Please make the staff member on duty aware that you are playing your league match and would like access to those discs.
  10. If no one is at the club when you play your match, any disagreements on close discs have to be resolved by the players. If you cannot come to a conclusion regarding a disc being in or out, replay the frame. Consider making arrangements to have at least one other person at the club when you play so they can make a third call. PLEASE play all 8 of your group stage matches. It affects the integrity of the league if you go 0-4 in your first four matches and forfeit the rest, for example. Please do not do that. You will not be invited back if we do more of these leagues in the future.
  11. Once we get to the 16-player knockout round we ask that you complete that round in one week, and the round of 8 the following week. The semifinals and finals will then be scheduled on a date so spectators can come watch.
  12. Email all match results to Erik at erikshuffleleague@gmail.com. He will put them into RecRec.

Gameplay

  1. Each match consists of one 16-frame game of walking singles, switching colors after 8 frames.
  2. You are allowed four warm up shots from each end of the court before frame 1 and after switching colors. In frame 9 black shoots first to prevent someone from having two hammers in a row.
  3. If a game is tied after 16 frames, you must play two additional frames (with each person getting a hammer) until the tie is broken.

Prize Pool

  1. If all 36 spots are filled*, the top four finishers will get paid as follows:
  2. 1st: $500
  3. 2nd: $300
  4. 3rd: $200
  5. 4th: $100

*If all 36 spots are not filled, the prize money pool will be adjusted as needed.
