Round 1:
To start, you’ll be placed into groups of 4 Doubles teams
Complete a match against each of your 3 Doubles team opponents in 5 weeks
The top 2 Doubles teams in each group, based on total points, will advance to the next round of Main. In the event of a tie, standings will be determined first by head-to-head results, followed by speed shuffle. The remaining players will move into an optional Consolation Round.
Round 2:
Main:
Your team will be placed into groups of 4 Doubles teams
Complete a match against each of your 3 Doubles team opponents in 4 weeks
The top 2 Doubles teams from each group will advance to the Main playoff bracket. In the event of a tie, standings will be determined first by head-to-head results, followed by points/wins in Round 1, and then, if necessary, by speed shuffle.
Consolation:
Your team will move into group play or a single elimination bracket at the commission’s discretion based off the number of participants
Playoff Brackets:
First round of two will be self-scheduled, just like group play
As we get into later round of playoffs, we’ll attempt to get all remaining teams to finish the bracket on the same day/evening
Game Format: Each game will consist of a 16-frame doubles game, with players switching colors after frame 8. Shooting order will be YBBY.
Lag, flip a coin or rock, paper, scissors to determine color.
If the score is tied at the end of 16 frames, players will play an additional 2 frames until tie is broken. Remain on the same color as frame 16 for any additional frames.
Warm-Ups:
Do not start warming up before both teams are at the court.
Each player may throw 4 practice discs before frame 1 and before frame 9.
Partner substitutions will not be allowed once the tournament has started.
Coaching is allowed similar to league night at Royal Palms. This is the FUN division and a chance to learn and improve your skills!
