Additional Information:

Tournament Format

This is a NYSA Member-exclusive elimination singles tournament with a consolation bracket, meaning that all players are guaranteed at least two 16-frame matches. Winners of the first match advance to the main bracket, while losers move on to consolation. Any loss thereafter results in elimination. Players coordinate with each other to schedule matches.

Check out the NYSA Singles Players Guide for more information about format, rules, and etiquette for our singles leagues.

Eligibility

Any NYSA Member who is active on a Royal Palms league team can play in a Knockout Tournament. Players may register for any and all divisions for which they are eligible:

  • Advanced: designed for experienced players, but open for ALL who want to test their skills in a competitive format.

  • Intermediate: ideal for new and experienced players looking for an opportunity to play competitively as an individual to grow their abilities and further develop strategy. Only players with an ELO of 1100 or below are eligible for this division.

  • Not a NYSA member yet? Sign up here.

  • Check the status of your NYSA membership here.

Schedule

It is the responsibility of the players to coordinate with each other to schedule a match.

To accommodate varying summer schedules, each round of play spans a 2.5-week period. Matches must be completed within that time frame. An inability to complete matches within the designated time frame will result in a double forfeit.

Brackets will be released by June 17.

Deadlines for Completion:

  • July 5: First Match

  • July 22: Second Match (Elimination Round)

  • August 8: Quarterfinals

  • August 26: Semi-Finals

  • September 12: Finals

Please only register for one or more Knockout division if you have flexible availability to schedule your matches within the required timeline.
