Tournament Format

This is an elimination singles tournament with a consolation bracket, meaning that all players are guaranteed at least two 16-frame matches. Winners of the first match advance to the main bracket, while losers move on to consolation. Any loss thereafter results in elimination.

Eligibility

Any NYSA Member who is currently a member of a Royal Palms league team can play in a Knockout Tournament. Players may register for any and all divisions for which they are eligible: 

The Intermediate Division is ideal for new and experienced players looking for an opportunity to play competitively as an individual to grow their abilities and further develop strategy. Only players with an ELO of 1100 or below are eligible for this division. (Contact us if you need help finding your ELO on RecRec.)

Please only register for Knockouts if you have flexible availability during the tournament period to schedule your matches for all tournaments for which you’ve registered.

Schedule

It is the responsibility of the players to coordinate with each other to schedule a match. All contact information for your opponent can be found on the contact sheet.

To accommodate varying schedules, each round of play spans a 2-week period. Matches must be completed within that time frame. An inability to complete matches within the designated time frame will result in a double forfeit.

NEW Timeline for Completion:

• April 3: First Match

• April 17: Second Match (Elimination Round)

• May 1: Quarterfinals

• May 15: Semi-Finals

• May 29: Finals

What's At Stake

Prize money for top finishers in each bracket and NYSA State Points.

Based on the number of participants, this Intermediate Knockout tournament qualifies for NYSA State Points in the following tiers:

• Main Bracket: Tier 4

• Consolation Bracket: Tier 6

This is a NYSA Member event and registration is non-refundable. Non-members who sign up will be removed without a refund, but their entry will be transferable to future NYSA Tournaments after they've signed up as members.
